McCain Picks Up NH Union Leader Endorsement

Well, the newspaper Union Leader.

Dear Anon,

I wanted to share some very good news with you from the campaign trail. The New Hampshire Union Leader, a well-respected, conservative newspaper, endorsed me for president. Publisher Joseph McQuaid writes:

"What is most compelling about McCain ... is that his record, his character, and his courage show him to be the most trustworthy, competent, and conservative of all those seeking the nomination. Simply put, McCain can be trusted to make informed decisions based on the best interests of his country, come hell or high water."

I am honored and grateful for this endorsement and believe that it's yet another indication that I have the momentum to win New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary.

I've been on the road meeting people in the early primary and caucus states, attending (and winning) debates, going to fundraisers and doing what's necessary to run a campaign to be the next President of the United States.

National polls show that I am the only conservative Republican candidate who beats Hillary Clinton in the general election and in state by state match-ups.

I'm writing you this letter today because we are on track to win. I am the only candidate with the experience and integrity needed in the next President of the United States and that message is breaking through.

I have the experience, the ideas and the message to win. The only thing that is holding me back right now is money.

My well funded and self-funded opponents have been able to blanket the airwaves and fill the mailboxes of voters in the early states and have been doing so for many months now.

Right now I need your help. Please take this opportunity to make an online contribution to my campaign. The Iowa caucuses are only 30 days away and New Hampshire voters will go to the polls five days after that. Your immediate contribution will ensure that we have the resources to compete in January and February.

If you've been waiting to contribute or to contribute again, please consider doing so now. The feelings of the voters are strong, the crowds are growing, the excitement is there and we are pushing hard toward the nomination.

I understand that a contribution to my campaign is an investment in me, and I don't take that lightly. I am forever humbled by your support.

Sincerely,

John McCain

P.S. Join the growing crowd of American voters who are demanding straight talk. The time is now. I will continue to do everything I can to win this race. Please do everything you can to make sure we get there together.
